Walk Off the Earth (WOTE) is a Canadian indie band known for its music videos of covers and originals. WOTE gained worldwide attention in 2012 with their brilliant five-people-playing-one-guitar interpretation of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know.” This video exploded on YouTube, garnering over 192 million views and a guest appearance to perform on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

In January 2023, WOTE released the single “My Stupid Heart.” The video featured the three sons of the band members and has generated nearly two million followers and a billion views on their TikTok and YouTube platforms respectively.

Since then, the band put out an open-verse challenge that has been taken on by thousands, including Jimmy Kimmel and Lauv. A new remix with Lauv has also been released.

“Our song ‘My Stupid Heart’ is about naively jumping back into a past relationship thinking things will be different this time around,” shares Walk Off the Earth. “Your desire is to feel a sense of familiarity and comfort but it’s ripped away as you are quickly reminded why you left the relationship in the first place. We’ve all been there, and we want this song to be an anthem for those that are all too familiar with the feeling of having a stupid heart.”

“My Stupid Heart” is a catchy, fun tune with a bpm of 115. It can work well as a flat road or a heavy climb, or even as a recovery.
