Theme Ride Thursday: Wild and Crazy

Sometimes you just need to cut loose and get crazy to release pent-up frustrations. And sometimes the best way to do that is on a bike. In this “Wild and Crazy” playlist we explore songs with this theme and even dabble in a little bit of psycho.

Some of our favorites are Seal’s “Crazy” from the ’90s, “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce, “Wild Things – Young Bombs Remix” by Alessia Cara, and “The Wild Boys” by Duran Duran. And if you’re able to get away with it then definitely include “Batshit” by Sofi Tukker in your class.

There’s also this favorite of mine from Alice Merton.

And if you’re looking for an already-made profile using this theme, then check out Jennifer’s Wild and Crazy Quick Profile.

  1. Love these playlists with BPMs. As a fairly new instructor, I really appreciate these suggestions. Love ICA!

    1. thanks Sarah! I added them both.

A completely separate theme ride can be done just from the “Wild” playlist!

  2. I have used a song called Crazy by Seal (05:56 mins) in a high cadence (100 rpm) with power surges configuration: surges were at 01:00, 02:30, 04:00, & 05:26. It followed up a climb segment and led into a cool down at the end of a 45 min class.

    1. Nice way to use that song, Dayton! It’s one of the tracks in the profile I created on this theme, although I just have them hold the same intensity. I’ll have to try the surging next time.

Everyone recognizes the song and so many people really like it. One rider told me that she likes the song so much and the beat was so easy for her to keep 100 rpm which she usually has a problem holding.
