Thanksgiving songs

Like the Halloween theme song list, this Thanksgiving song list has been collected over many years, from many sources including other instructors and indoor cycling forums. Thanksgiving is uniquely an American holiday – at least, this one with a traditional meal that includes turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries, pumpkin pie, and far too many calories consumed at once. It is very much of a family holiday, often moreso than the end of December (however you celebrate that time of year).

A Thanksgiving theme ride does not need to only include songs with that one theme, although I’ve known some instructors to do an all “Black Friday” theme (for the non-Americans amongst you, Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year, the day after Thanksgiving). I like to do rides based on things to be grateful for, and use a few songs here and there with that theme. I especially do this for the warm-up, cool-down and any introspective segments within the profile. The rest of the songs are more dependent on my profile – climbing, high energy, flat, etc – and I choose them just like I do with any other class I teach. Keep your holiday ride upbeat and exciting – remember, one of the purposes is to burn as many calories as possible to counter the excess consumption that normally takes pace on this holiday!

We’re giving it to you as a sortable spreadsheet, with categories of food, gratitude, family, happy, Black Friday, love, and peace. There’s a category called “other” in there as well, because I wasn’t quite sure what the instructor had in mind, but it seemed like it could fit in there somewhere!

As usual, if you have some favorites to add, please leave them in the comments box below.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at ICA!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you, Jennifer 🙂 Our Thanksgiving holiday in Canada had passed (It was in Oct, and I did the “Turkey Burner” ride.)
Is it possible you can post the song list with the different format such as .pdf file instead, please? I can’t open .xlsx file 🙁
    Thanks,
    Le
