Regardless of the reason, using too much resistance on an indoor cycling bike is not good for the muscles, joints, or an effective workout.

    Excellent information Tom! I tell my class to greet resistance as their friend because beginners tend to be afraid of applying too much. Of course the regulars will go overboard. This will give them a way to gauge just how much is too much.
