Spinning Instructors run in the family and start early!

I saw this video posted on a Facebook Spinning® group page and thought it was so adorable I asked if I could share it on my blog. This is Spinning® Instructor Jenn Lee’s daughter Keira a few years ago when she was 6 years old, on her home “Spinning” bike, teaching a class! It’s a little hard to understand at times but you will be awed by her cuteness. Pay attention to this young lady – she gives you some good form tips! 😉

Jenn Lee fulfilled a dream last year and opened up her own club in Winthrop, Massachusetts, near Boston. It’s called Move-Fitness, an 8,400 sq. ft facility with Spinning®, Zumba®, many other branded fitness classes, and personal training. Way to go Jenn – I can’t wait to hear more

Workouts have their limits

spinning classBased on what I know about most of my readers and ICA members, you, the person reading this blog post, most likely already know this: too much high intensity exercise is not a good idea. In fact, it may injure you or burn you out.

We now know it’s true because the NYT says so.

Really? Is this such a news flash! Why doesn’t everyone already know this? The fitness industry, and the readers of most mainstream fitness media, tends to behave like a pendulum. It’s a mentality of doing something one way for awhile (i.e. “fat-burning zone”) but then they find out it is not totally true, so they swing ALL the way to the other side (forget “fat-burning” and only do HIT). The Spinning® Instructor Manifesto – by Master Instructor Luciana Marcial-Vincion

One of my most favorite Master Instructors for the Spinning® program is Luciana Marcial-Vincion. I’ve known her for years, as a co-team member of the Spinning Master Instructor Team, and once had the amazing honor of co-presenting with her at a Crunch conference in Atlanta. It was just Luciana and me, alternating sessions back and forth. I learned so much from her just being in the same room. When I wasn’t presenting, I sat in the back and frantically wrote down every word she said!

Luciana and I share many of the same philosophies and passions, and I just found out another thing we have in common – she also doesn’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions! While I suggest that you have a Revolution in your thinking, Luciana calls her concept a Manifesto. She has written a brilliant article
